FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I work with people who are experiencing grief or undergoing a “death” process.
This may include things like anticipatory grief, terminal illness, or undergoing a profound life transition. Many of my clients over the years have been at the precipice or threshold of a big transition such as a divorce, career pivot, experiencing the death of a loved one, or simply mourning who they once were.
No. While my clinical background helps inform my work, I do not operate under my nursing license for these services, nor do I provide therapy, crisis support, medical, or psychiatric advice. The scope of my practice falls under education and non-medical support only. I do not act as a substitute for standard care, but rather complementary to it.
Both— depending on what your needs and where you are in your journey I have both virtual and in-person support options.
A death doula provides non-medical support to fill in the gaps where hospice or standard medical care may not meet all of your needs. This can range from practical planning and preparation, in-person space holding, spiritual or emotional support, legacy projects, and grief support / aftercare for families. The death doula works side by side with your hospice team and family, the same way a birth doula would.Preparing for death is an overwhelming, emotionally charged experience that often requires a lot of logistics and moving pieces. The role of a doula is to meet you where you are so you can meet transformation consciously, reduce caregiver stress, and help you experience the most peaceful, deeply fulfilling journey possible.
In-person support often involves traveling to where you are located to create a comforting atmosphere and hold space for the transformative experience. This can include things like sound healing, aromatherapy, healing touch, and sitting bedside vigil. Each situation is unique to the individual and their family depending on their beliefs, culture, needs, and preferences.
I do not work with individuals who are actively suicidal, in crisis, seeking psychiatric care or quick fixes, nor do I work with individuals with certain medical conditions. If you're in a crisis, please contact a licensed mental health provider or reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.
These exclusions do not necessarily apply to individuals considering MAID-related services, for which special precautions will be taken into consideration case-by-case.
Please schedule a 30 min discovery call. During the conversation I will be able to better determine what type of support I can offer.
As someone with several years of clinical and administrative background in ketamine-assisted therapy and wellness clinics, I offer industry-level consultation for healthcare providers, organizations, and business owners entering or refining their work in this field.
Accessibility and transparency are important to me. I do my best to meet you where you are, while also honoring the energy and resources it takes to sustain this work.
I host free monthly Death Cafes as an open, no-barrier space for anyone navigating grief or end-of-life questions. I am also in the process of developing a scholarship fund for individuals who need support but face financial barriers. If cost is a concern, that conversation is always welcome to discuss.
